Our brains perceive physical and emotional threats in the exact same way, an emotional threat is the same as a roaring lion to our brain. Our brains have a built in negativity bias, meaning we are hardwired to be on the lookout for threats, our ancestors had to be vigilant because any small movement could have been a predator looking to make you dinner. When something intense affects us, it becomes part of our subconscious mind. This is where the beauty of hypnosis comes in, we are able to quickly work through and reframe a fear, so that it reflects reality.
